Be A Selfless Message // SELFLESS Pt.3 // Ps Lynda Stanton

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

COLOSSIANS 2:6-7 (NLT).

Do you know that all over the provinces of both Macedonia and Achaia believers look up to you? The word has gotten around. Your lives are echoing the Master’s Word, not only in the provinces but all over the place. The news of your faith in God is out. We don’t even have to say anything anymore – YOU’RE the message!

1 THESSALONIANS 1:8 (The Message)

It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put His hand on you for something special. When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions. You paid careful attention to the way we lived among you.

1 THESSALONIANS 1:3-4 (The Message)

1. A SELF-LESS CHRISTIAN SHIFTS THE FOCUS OFF THEMSELVES TO OTHERS.

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

ISAIAH 4:13 (NIV)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

PSALM 23:4 (NIV)

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.”

JOHN 9:1-3 (ESV)

But when Jesus heard about it he said, The purpose of this illness is not death, but for the glory of God. I, the Son of God, will receive glory from this situation.

JOHN 11:4 (LB)

… who has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake?

PHILIPPIANS 1:29 (NKJ)

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility, consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also the interests of others.

PHILIPPIANS 2:3-4 (NIV)

I don't think about what would be good for me, but about what would be good for many people so that they might be saved.

1 CORINTHIANS 10:33 (God's Word Translation)

2. A SELF-LESS CHRISTIAN SHIFTS FROM ‘HERE & NOW’ THINKING TO ‘ETERNAL’ THINKING.

We fix our eyes NOT on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 (NIV)

Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back.

HEBREWS 12:1 (LB)

We obsess over God’s will for my life – when the point is, My life for God’s will.

Ps. Louie Giglio:

Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him, is not fit for the Kingdom of God.

LUKE 9:62 (LB)

3. A SELF-LESS CHRISTIAN SHIFTS FROM ‘LOCAL’ THINKING TO ‘GLOBAL’ THINKING.

If you ask Me, I will give you the nations; all the people on earth will be yours.

PSALM 2:8 (NCV)

People may refuse our love or reject our message, but they are defenceless against our prayers!

You are also joining to help us when you pray for us.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:11 (GWT)

We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way.

2 CORINTHIANS 6:11-12 (The Message)

The price of procrastination is the life you COULD have lived.
